Bunch of defects here didn't help the situation. Had the EMT been strapped properly the wires may not have severed when the conduit was hit. One receptacle was arcing against the box and every nut was cross threaded at the connector in each box we opened. Loose connectors as well. No wonder this conduit network lost it's bond. Will be tracing through the connections to find the missing bond connections after we fix the damaged parts. It's amazing how many defects one can leave on one simple run.
Wrapping up this basement in Uxbridge on this fine Sunday. 63 devices mostly roughed in. Just waiting for framer to clean some framing up in bathroom.
The wiring feast is about to start here in Stouffville.
Low voltage lighting installed for this client’s hot tub / under deck area in Aurora. With Lutron remote control. Only 15 Watts of total power consumption for quite the output. Ask us about lighting up your outdoor spaces. @inlitedesign
It’s nice when I get to bring out the big Fluke. All the other meters run scared. It’s an oldie, but a goldie. Still running strong after a lithium battery swap. These things were built like a tank.
Looks like someone renovated this kitchen at some point. Nothing like a free air junction with the hot wire jumping out of the wire nut. There was no logic to how the original electrical was wired in this place.
Looks like we’ve hired a ghost to drill our pot light feeds.
We’ll be putting this house wiring back together in Toronto after some flood restoration work.
This swim spa hook-up in Vaughan was far from ordinary. Two internal 60 Amp connections for separate control and heating boards. There was no room left anywhere to split the feeds. Biggest swim spa I’ve ever seen.
Another Hydropool hot tub hooked up this week in Aurora.
Back-feeding and re-feeding some circuits for this wall removal in Stouffville.
Service panel relocated this week in Clarington. From an old fuse panel in a horrible location on main floor to a new breaker panel in the basement. See the conduit entering the chimney from the original feed. Interesting to say the least.
Ever wondered what a backstabbed receptacle connection looks like from the front? The terminal screws were also left extended@making them more prone to shifting against the metal box.
We get requests to replace fluorescent fixture ballasts all the time. For not much more expense you can replace the whole fixture with an integral LED one. No more leaking and buzzing ballasts and with the bonus of energy saved. Ask us about dimmable options for offices as well. Have different brightness for different rooms along with even more energy savings. Ask us about zoned lighting control as well.
Running power to some office poles, a printer and running new data drops for an office revamp in Vaughan.
Wiring up a ductless mini split in Mt. Albert. They provide heating and cooling while using little power.
Tracing through some interesting knob and tube connections in Toronto.
Another hot tub hooked up. Another same day final connection We got in there fresh before the wrapping came off.
We love wiring up kitchens. Pot lights through half of main floor, peninsula light, smart home dimmers, under cabinet lighting and new receptacles including a 200 Amp service upgrade.
When you show up for finishing and the owner has decided to flip up the tabs on the electrical boxes. I wish I saw the look on my face when I discovered this and looked around to see they were everywhere. We made it work for him as always. Anyone see this move before? Never knew I had to put a provision for this in my contract.
